Case Study: On-site Verification

A major US oil refiner needed to perform on-site Positive Material Identification (PMI) of field welds during a major expansion of one of their refineries. The testing required carbon content verification of 316L field welds during the fabrication of the Wet-Gas Scrubber unit. The refinery expected this testing to take six to eight weeks.

Solution:

The company called BAY Technical Associates to do the testing. As a result of the extensive experience and training of our PMI technician, the testing was completed and verified in two, one-week trips. This short timeframe far exceeded the client's expectations and dramatically reduced their costs.
